This year, in partnership with New Street Records Manchester, I am running a friendly and free crash course in music production.
Designed for student artists and producers looking to release demos or finished tracks, or those simply interested in the dark art of recording and mixing, the course is a run-through of all the skills and technical expertise required to get those bedroom recordings sounding professional.
We will cover acoustics, studio setup, EQ, compression, gain-staging; you name it, it's in there. The sessions are held every Wednesday evening at 8:30 in the SU and all you need is a notepad and pen and, for the mixing side, a laptop running a production software (DAW) of your choice. It does not matter which DAW you use and the topics discussed will be universally applicable so even if you're only curious, come along!
